Dr. Victoria Cohen founded Midnight Phoenix, LLC in 2021 with the primary objectives of improving the health literacy of the general public, offering education on preventive medicine, and promoting mindfulness practices that can enhance our mental, physical, and emotional health.
Dr. Cohen is a family medicine physician who is board-certified and has training in osteopathic manipulative medicine (OMT). She is also a public health expert and community educator. Dr. Cohen was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan, and completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor. She majored in Women's Studies and minored in Biology. After obtaining her master's degree in public health, she pursued her dream of becoming a physician at Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine. She completed her residency training at Ascension Providence Hospital in Southfield, Michigan. After years of practicing medicine in the ambulatory and home setting, Dr. Cohen obtained certifications in meditation and breathwork. Currently, she is pursuing her 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training certification with YogaRenew and Executive Healthcare Leadership certificate from Cornell University.
Dr. Cohen is passionate about raising community awareness about health and preventive medicine. She firmly believes that prevention starts early in life and has created a children's comic book series, Adventures of Nyomi the Masquerading Superhero, which provides engaging and family-oriented science, health, and safety content. In addition to her work as a physician, Dr. Cohen is also passionate about mindfulness and has contributed to articles in BLAC magazines that discuss the importance of incorporating mindfulness practices into everyday life. She has also done speaking engagements with Fortune 500 companies, sororities, and local schools & churches. She has partnered with Ford Motor Company to educate their employees about heart health and the impact of health disparities on healthcare.
